Opened in 2005 and further expanded under new ownership in 2012 by Melissa Rancourt and Helena Mahuas, SERENDIP is a wellness landmark, both in Brussels and beyond.
Melissa is a global strategist and industrial engineer who is passionate about encouraging girls into STEM-based careers (science, technology, engineering, mathematics). Helena for her part is a hospitality expert, sports coach and global events & marketing specialist.
Many of SERENDIP’s staff members, teachers and therapists have spent a substantial part of their careers working in the corporate world and understand the pressures that both employees and companies have to contend with.
Our approach to wellness fully leverages the specific background of our staff, from the analysis of specific needs, all the way through to the creation of tailored solutions that fully support data on the benefits of individual and team-based wellness approaches.

Meditation practice helps to break cycles of negative thought and reduces emotional reactivity. Includes breathing exercises, body scans and focused attention. Manages stress by promoting relaxation, reducing cortisol levels and lowering anxiety.

Accessible, gentle form of yoga performed either seated or using a chair for balance, adapting traditional poses to improve flexibility, strength, and body awareness. Ideal for office workers, reducing chronic pain, improving posture, and lowering stress.

Enhances muscle elasticity, reduces muscle spasms, and improves daily functional mobility. A fluid body for a fluid mind.

Somatic practices that tone the nervous system to instantly relieve stress, pressure, and anxiety leading to deeper groundedness, a sense of profound connection to the body, and more ease to dealing with high pressure at work. These exercises target the parts of the body that hold the most nerves connected to the nervous system. Especially during periods of stress and meeting deadlines.

Tools are short, accessible practices designed to help employees release tension and re-anchor their attention in the body and regulate mental overload while remaining at their desk. Examples include grounding through the feet and chair, short breath-based retests, and gentle tension-release movements that signal safety to the nervous system. These techniques reduce accumulated stress, improve mental clarity and focus, and support overall wellbeing during demanding workdays.

Focuses on reducing sensory overload and mental fatigue caused by constant stimulation, screen exposure and high cognitive demand. The practice includes simple exercises such as guided downshifting (softening visual focus, reducing auditory input) to reduce visual and auditory overstimulation. Supports emotional balance, clearer thinking, helps prevent burnout, reduces irritability and supports sustainable energy throughout the day.

Guided mental and sensory practice designed to help participants reset their nervous system, reduce stress and reconnect with clarity and focus. Through simple, accessible imagery and breath-led attention, participants are guided to shift out of mental overload and into a calm, grounded state. Supports relaxation, mental clarity and a more balanced transition back into work or into the rest of the day, making it especially effective during high-pressure or fast-paced corporate environments.

Muscle release techniques for jaw, temples, eyes, neck, accupressure points for anxiety and stress relief or to start the day fully energised.

A 10 to 30 minute therapeutic session focused on the neck, shoulders, back, arms and hands. Performed on a specialized, ergonomic portable chair that supports the body.

A guided walking experience designed to bring a group together. This activity encourages light movement, informal interaction and collective reflection, supporting both physical wellbeing and team bonding in a relaxed, inclusive setting.
