Softening the Weight We Carry

Releasing neck, shoulder & upper back tension through the heart

In this nurturing and restorative class with Marjorie, we explore the connection between chronic tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back and the heart space. These areas often carry not only physical stress from daily life but also emotional weight - responsibility, unexpressed feelings, and the habit to “holding it all together.”

Through gentle somatic movement and stretches, guided awareness, breathwork, and short visualization, participants are invited to soften physical tension, release stored stress, and reconnect with a sense of ease and openness. The class is slow, grounding, and accessible to all levels, offering a safe space to unwind both body and mind.

Perfect for anyone feeling tight, overextended, or in need of deep nourishment, this class supports relaxation, emotional balance, and a more spacious relationship with the heart.

Once a month, we are pleased to offer a free Open Community Class as a way to give back to our community, welcome new faces, and create space to slow down, connect, and experience the essence of Serendip.

These sessions are an opportunity to experience our space, meet our teachers, and explore the different types of classes we offer. Each month will feature a different teacher and class style.

Movement, Mindfulness & Meditation for Everyday Life

A 2-Hour Practical Well-Being Workshop with Irina Oshchepkova

SHAPE Method: Start • Honesty • Aim • Practice • Evolution

  • Movement you can do in normal clothes.

  • Mindfulness that interrupts the stress of daily life.

  • Meditation that is possible even when your schedule is full.

What if taking care of yourself didn’t require extra time, special clothes, or pushing through discomfort?

This workshop is designed for real life - for busy schedules, full calendars, and bodies that spend too much time sitting or carrying stress. Using SHAPE Method (Start • Honesty • Aim • Practice • Evolution), you’ll explore how movement, mindfulness, and meditation can support you in a sustainable way.

We begin by slowing down through grounding through the senses, and shifting out of ‘busy mode’ with breath awareness. From there, you’ll learn how to recognise what’s actually happening in your body and mind: tension patterns, stress habits, and early signs of overwhelm - without guilt or judgment.

The core of the workshop is an accessible reset sequence delivered in two layers: a mat version and a no-mat version. You’ll move through gentle neck, shoulder, back release, wrist and foot care, and hip mobility - adaptable to your own body and needs. Alongside movement, you’ll practice stress-interrupting tools such as breath anchoring, sensory grounding, and other meditation techniques that can be done in under five minutes.

You’ll leave with a personalised 10-minute mini-plan and handouts including: 2-minute breath awareness, 5-minute movement routine, 3-minute evening meditation

Practical tools. Accessible shifts. Real change - without pain or time pressure.
