Movement, Mindfulness & Meditation for Everyday Life

Movement, Mindfulness & Meditation for Everyday Life

A 2-Hour Practical Well-Being Workshop with Irina Oshchepkova

SHAPE Method: Start • Honesty • Aim • Practice • Evolution

  • Movement you can do in normal clothes.

  • Mindfulness that interrupts the stress of daily life.

  • Meditation that is possible even when your schedule is full.

What if taking care of yourself didn’t require extra time, special clothes, or pushing through discomfort?

This workshop is designed for real life - for busy schedules, full calendars, and bodies that spend too much time sitting or carrying stress. Using SHAPE Method (Start • Honesty • Aim • Practice • Evolution), you’ll explore how movement, mindfulness, and meditation can support you in a sustainable way.

We begin by slowing down through grounding through the senses, and shifting out of ‘busy mode’ with breath awareness. From there, you’ll learn how to recognise what’s actually happening in your body and mind: tension patterns, stress habits, and early signs of overwhelm - without guilt or judgment.

The core of the workshop is an accessible reset sequence delivered in two layers: a mat version and a no-mat version. You’ll move through gentle neck, shoulder, back release, wrist and foot care, and hip mobility - adaptable to your own body and needs. Alongside movement, you’ll practice stress-interrupting tools such as breath anchoring, sensory grounding, and other meditation techniques that can be done in under five minutes.

You’ll leave with a personalised 10-minute mini-plan and handouts including: 2-minute breath awareness, 5-minute movement routine, 3-minute evening meditation

Practical tools. Accessible shifts. Real change - without pain or time pressure.

Curious about the theme and guest speaker for this event?

Join us on 30th January for an inspiring chat on "Find the Joy in Walking - and more!" Manuel Schmitz may already be familiar to you - especially if you follow his walking journey on Instagram, website, and this latest article in the Brussels Times entitled, "I like to read the city.". Manuel calls himself a professional and unprofessional walker. "In a very unprofessional way, I walked every street in Brussels by using an old paper map. It took me 4 years, 2.900 km, and around 570 walks to walk Brussels'6,000 streets." Incredible!

Manuel has been working and walking as a professional guide for the last 10 years. Walking was essential for his research for his book on architectural history of Brussels ("Monumental") and his first novel ("Nimmerleinstage"). Prior to walking so much, he was sitting more at a desk - as a researcher with a PhD in Political Science. (Note - he says he prefers walking.)

Let's get inspired together and chat about Finding the Joy in Walking - how this connects to our wellbeing in more ways that you may imagine!

The Art of Grounding -Introduction to Qi Gong

Autumn is a season of transition. The air cools, the wind rises, the leaves fall
— and with them, our inner stability can waver. Thoughts become restless,
the body feels lighter, scattered. In this season of constant flux and
movement, grounding becomes essential.
This workshop offers an introduction to Qi Gong, a traditional Chinese
practice that harmonizes movement, breath, and awareness. Through slow,
deliberate movements, we reconnect with our base, the Dantian (the
energy center located just below the navel), a vital anchor between earth
and sky.

What to expect:
• Gentle, flowing movements to awaken bodily presence;
• Conscious breathing to nourish the lungs and calm the mind;
• Postural alignment to restore a sense of weight and verticality;
• Standing meditation to settle into the present moment.

Led by Lamia Mechbal – therapist, anthropologist, and Qi Gong teacher.
She guides individuals toward deeper embodiment, inner clarity, and
intuitive vitality.

Sunday Morning Meditation

Sunday Morning Meditation

Meditation is a powerful practice for cultivating emotional stability. With a gentle and open attitude, explore your mind and create space for compassion and loving-kindness. We'll begin with basic techniques and gradually introduce elements of Shingon-Buddhist practice, including simple visualizations.

The session is led by Shaku Jinsen, a fully ordained Shingon Buddhist priest who studied and practiced in Japan for ten years. He now leads Yo e an, a center for Shingon Buddhism, offering guidance in meditation and Buddhist teachings.

We follow the buddhist principle of free donations.

Every Sunday 10:30 am at Serendip Spa & Wellbeing

Plus, every last Sunday of the month, we're holding a special Sunday Meditation with a Blessing Ritual
