Find your centre, release unnecessary tension and enter the flow of movement
Tai Chi begins with simple actions: standing, shifting your weight and stepping forward without rushing.
During this 90-min introductory workshop, Lamia will guide you through the foundations of vertical alignment, physical release and Tai Chi walking. You will then learn three fundamental movements from the 24-posture form: Opening, Parting the Wild Horse’s Mane and Brush Knee.
The workshop will end by bringing these movements together into a short flowing sequence. You will leave with a direct experience of Tai Chi and a clearer sense of how alignment, weight transfer and physical release can transform the way you move.
Lamia teaches Tai Chi and Qi Gong at Serendip. She holds two Tai Chi teaching certifications and teaches the 24-posture form as transmitted through the work of Vlady Stévanovitch.
No previous experience is required.
